The Harvard 100
Acceptance Criteria

The following are a combination of Harvard’s and The Harvard 100’s criteria for the Performance Measurement for Effective Management of Nonprofit Organizations (PMNO) program:

The Candidate

  • At least one year of experience working in their current role at the nonprofit organization they would like to represent
  • Senior nonprofit operating leader, i.e. Executive Director, President, CEO, CFO, COO, etc.

The nonprofit organization they represent should:

  • Have a minimum of 5 full-time employees
  • Have an annual budget of at least $1 million
  • Have been fully operational for at least one year and be out of the start-up phase
  • Evidence of a functional, board approved, succession plan
  • Not be in financial distress

Non-eligible candidates include management support organizations, consulting firms, foundations, or grant making organizations.

If two of the organization’s leaders have already participated in the Harvard experience a matching grant may be offered to fund a third attendee.

Candidate will still need to complete the standard Harvard application. Harvard has the option to deny admission regardless of the Harvard 100 decision.
